Montessori Cambridge School, Pathankot organized Drug Awareness Week from 18th April to 22nd April 2017. The week was successfully conducted under the guidance of the school chairman Mr. Vinod Mahajan and Principal Ms. Rashmi Ahluwalia. The main aim of the programme was to prevent drug abuse among students through the development of values, attitudes and practices.

Various activities were conducted as per the guidelines issued by Director General School Education cum State project director, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (Punjab).

In order to make the students aware of adverse effects of drug abuse in society’s culture and general wellbeing activities like Essay Writing, slogan writing and poster making competition were undertaken from classes VII to X. Our expert faculty used Audio-Visual Presentations to create Drug awareness among the school students.

A special assembly was organized, wherein the school Principal addressed the students on the social, emotional and physical dangers of drug abuse and motivated them to play their part in helping stop the spread of illegal drugs in our country. She appreciated the students for their active participation.

It is a unique initiative, as the youth’s involvement in anti-drug campaign is a necessary step aiming to create a drug free environment in Punjab
